Abstract:
In this talk, we discuss some issues related to solving a special class of discrete global optimization problems that arise in optimal control modelling of cell division process. Such optimal control formulations describing cell division dynamics is developed by considering a small number of founder cells ``sharing" the same environment. It assumes the existence of an into-cellular mechanism that controls all further divisions after activation of founder cells. This mechanism follows several multi-criteria objectives within predefined constraints. Numerical results are presented based on a recent data from “E. D. Hawkins, J. F. Markham, L. P. McGuinness, P. D. Hodgkin, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A.106, 13457 (2009).”
