Weak sharp minima, Lagrange multipliers, saddle points, and exact regularization are important notions in nonlinear optimization. This presentation will focus on inner connections among these notions. We will discuss new insights about their connections.Along the way, we will illustrate with examples, how to obtainnew results and how to reproduceexisting results from a different perspective.

个人简介：

Dr. Sien Deng is a full professor of mathematics at Northern Illinois University. His research interest is in optimization along with related areas of variational analysis. He has published numerous articles in top journals of optimization including SIAM Journal on Optimization, SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, and Mathematical Programming.
